Why you should save energy

Why is it necessary to save electricity

Is it worth saving energy if "everything is fine"?There are large oil and gas reserves, major hydroelectric power plants and many nuclear reactors. Is it not enough? It's enough, but you still need to save, because ...

The International Day of Energy Saving was established recently, on November 11, 2008. The initiator of the holiday was a "school project on the use of resources and energy."

It seems that the children have come up with a holiday for themselves, let them have fun, adults do not care.In fact, the holiday was not created by children, but by adults and responsible people who care about the fate of humanity and the planet.

Unfortunately, not all of us see the need to save energy, so it is very important that the starter of Energy Saving Day is a school project. If children understand why to save energy, then in the future they will not have to convince adults about the importance of saving resources.

But - why? What does Energy Saving save?

1. Money

Everything is easy with money. We use less energy - we pay less for it.Perhaps someone will complain disdainfully: "Here, count a small amount!"But this is just one of the benefits of saving energy.

2. Comfort

A large amount of energy expenditure is spent on maintaining a comfortable temperature at home and in the office. In winter - for heating, in summer - for air conditioning.

A properly configured climate system not only uses energy efficiently, but also maintains a comfortable "weather at home".In winter no one freezes, in summer no one languishes from restraint.

3. Nature

The share of "green" renewable sources in global energy production is constantly increasing. But the amount of "clean" energy will soon be equal to what we get by burning gas, coal and oil products.

By burning hydrocarbons, we emit into the atmosphere a large amount of substances that are harmful to all living things, from which not only we, but also our animals, rivers, forests and lakes suffer.

The less energy we use, the less dirt into nature, the better our health, our forests and our water cleaners.More often our children can see a hare, a button or a roe deer not through a zoo bar, but on a forest road, outside the window of a train or a car.

4. Climate

Not a day goes by without the media reporting on a new typhoon, catastrophic heat wave, flood or drought.Scientists blame global warming for this and attribute it to the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the planet's atmosphere.

One of the most powerful pollutants of the atmosphere with carbon dioxide is energy.By reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, we can stop negative climate processes.

Let the skeptics argue that nothing is really proven, that the possible increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases is not the cause, but the result of warming. Is this a reason to reject something that could harm our planet? Is it too dangerous to wait for reliable confirmation?Who will wait for them and who will need them if the point of no return is passed?Of course not us and not us.

5. Economy and Technology

The lower the cost of energy for production, the lower the price, the higher the competitiveness of our goods, the more efficient the economy.

Efficient use of energy stimulates scientific thinking and the development of modern technology.Does anyone remember when American cars stopped pumping gasoline onto the highway? After the first energy crisis in 1973.

The latest technology provides technological leadership, makes products more competitive, and improves the country's economic and military security.

6. Children

We all work, have fun, argue about politics and rush up the career ladder. But we live for our children, right?

The less we use the planet's resources, the more will be left for our children and grandchildren.Isn't it worth saving energy just for this?
